After obtaining her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in management with a focus on human resources and administration, Barb began her career in Michigan before making the big move to Colorado. She then spent over a decade in higher education, working in both recruitment and professional development for a nationally-ranked university. In 2016, Barb seized upon an opportunity to embark on a new journey when she entered the world of human resources consulting and shortly thereafter, continued her family’s legacy of entrepreneurship, when she founded REO Consulting, LLC.
The youngest of eight children, Barb was born and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and proudly calls herself a Yooper. A really good day for Barb consists of skiing or cycling, followed by a nice glass of vino, a Broncos win, and time spent with family and friends.
Stacy T. Harris
Director of Business Operations Consultant, Talent Acquisition and Career Coaching
After catching the marketing bug while interning for two of Denver’s professional sports franchises, Stacy changed her career plans and began her almost 20-year career in marketing and public relations. With experience in the high-tech, healthcare, and ski and outdoor industries, Stacy helped companies achieve their business goals, all while expanding her skill set as well as her professional network.
Ready for a change, Stacy spent several years in secondary admissions at the Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver, where she helped students through a professional development-focused admissions process. She then compiled her decades’ worth of business knowledge and contacts and set out to began her consulting career, where she focuses on helping people put their best professional foot forward through comprehensive professional development consulting and assisting companies in finding their next great employee.
Consultant, Talent Acquisition
Amanda began her recruiting career in Washington DC as technical recruiter serving a broad array of government and Fortune 1000 companies. After relocating to Colorado in the midst of the dotcom boom, Amanda started her own recruiting firm, where she placed hundreds of candidates in developer, executive, sales, and marketing positions at some of Denver’s premier high-tech companies. Amanda was eventually hired full-time by one of her clients, where she oversaw all human resources and recruiting functions for the company. Amanda left recruiting for a few years to raise her family and pursue a passion project or two, but has recently returned to her recruiting roots as a Talent Acquisition Specialist for REO Consulting.
Suzanne Dastin, MA, SHRM-CP
Senior HR Consultant
Suzanne moved to Denver after she graduated from the University of New Mexico. She spent some time as a corporate recruiter, and then joined the University of Denver for 10 years. She received her master’s degree from DU along with Mediation and High Performance Leadership certifications. During her tenure, she served as the Associate Director of Career Services for Daniels College of Business, focusing on recruiting, employer relations, career counseling and college rankings. Additionally, she spent four years with Executive Education in the College of Business.
Suzanne is a mom of two wonderful children & one fur baby. She loves living a Colorado lifestyle outdoors with her family and cooking for loved ones.
Heather A. Shockey, MEd., SHRM-SCP
Senior HR Consultant
A Senior HR Consultant at REO Consulting, Heather provides strategic support and guidance in all facets of the employment life cycle. Her range of expertise crosses the spectrum of HR from talent acquisition, to surveys and assessments, employee relations, performance management, coaching and beyond.
Heather has worked in a variety of industries including education, hospitality, services, health care, financial, non-profit, and government, and has demonstrated a unique versatility to adapt to each unique environment. Heather has boundless energy and a creative approach and can be counted on to present viable solutions to some of the most complex issues.
Heather earned a Master’s of Education from Montana State University and a Bachelor’s of Science from Eastern Kentucky University. Heather is also a certified SHRM-SCP.
